Davidson Academy strives to offer a strong Christian foundation for college preparation by nurturing spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social growth.
Morning Time
Each day school begins with a student led prayer, devotion, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Weekly Chapels
Each of our 3 divisions, lower, middle and high participate in weekly chapels. Administrators and/or local youth pastors pour into our students during this time. Worship is led by our praise team, comprised of musicians and singers who are students at Davidson Academy.
Classroom Instruction
Students in grades K3-8th grade have Bible class everyday which includes scripture memorization and Bible stories. Biblical principles and concepts are integrated throughout the entire curriculum. Middle School students take survey Bible classes everyday. High school students must take four semester long classes: Old Testament, New Testament, Foundation of the Christian Faith, and World View. These classes are taught at an advanced level and challenge students to understand their faith from historical and cultural perspectives.
Community Groups
Upper School Students are divided up into groups of 10-12 students based on age and gender and are paired with a faculty member.
At DA, our students have numerous opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus. In the past, our students have served through short term mission trips to Mexico, Haiti, and the Bahamas. We have partnered with Merizdo Ministries, Shwab Elementary, Atanie’s Hope, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Room at the Inn, the Bridge, and Mission 615. High school students have opportunity to travel to Costa Rica in the summer for mission work paired with sightseeing.
Bible Studies
Each Thursday morning, upper school students have the opportunity to learn from their peers through student led Bible studies. This is a great opportunity for students to become spiritual leaders within the community.
Retreats
At the beginning of each school year, middle school and high school students go on separate spiritual retreats at Camp Widjiwagan in middle TN. At the retreats, students relax, make new friends, and grow in their faith.
