Chapel

A God-Focused Campus
We are committed to focusing on God and His word daily at Davidson Academy. This is highlighted through our weekly chapel services every Thursday with a message tailored specifically for our students in each of the three levels (Elementary, Middle, and High School). This is a sacred time set aside every week to come together and worship.

For our Middle and High School chapels, our praise teams lead the service, in which we include corporate worship and biblical teaching. Area pastors come to Davidson Academy to pour into our students. We also have our teachers and students share personal testimonies of God’s goodness in their own lives.
Our Middle School and High School will host two Family Chapels this year:  Christmas Chapel on December 16th and Easter Chapel on March 28th.

In addition to being in Scripture and Worship, our Middle School and High School students have service days during the school year where they go into the community to serve others as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Our Preschool and Elementary School students focus on nine simple biblical truths that teach students to learn who they are because of who Christ is. This year’s truths are I am Known (Psalm 139:1); I am Forgiven (Psalm 86:5); I am Made for Community (John 1:12); I am Never Alone (Luke 2:11); I am Secure (Psalm 46:1); I am Meant to Know God (Deuteronomy 4:35); I am Loved (need to add verse).

Our Middle School and High School students will look to be More Like Jesus (Ephesians 5:1-2). As we are seeking to be more like Him, we will take Quarter 1 to answer the question Who Is Jesus? (Colossians 1:15-20). Quarter 2 will focus on how we Look Like Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). Quarter 3 we will seek to Love Like Jesus (John 13:34). Finally, in Quarter 4 we will conclude with how to Live Like Jesus (1 John 2:6) -- taking what we have learned, paired with His love for us and going out to change our world for His glory.

MS/HS Chapel Themes

List of 4 items.

  • Who is Jesus? - Quarter 1

"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was please to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

    Colossians 1:15-20
  • Look Like Jesus - Quarter 2

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

    2 Corinthians 5:17
  • Love Like Jesus - Quarter 3

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

    John 13:34
  • Live Like Jesus - Quarter 4

    1 John 2:6
