Chapel

A God-Focused Campus
We are committed to focusing on God and His word daily at Davidson Academy. This is highlighted through our weekly chapel services every Thursday with a message tailored specifically for our students in each of the four levels (Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School). This is a sacred time set aside every week to come together and worship.

For our Middle and High School chapels, our praise teams lead the service, in which we include corporate worship and biblical teaching. Area pastors come to Davidson Academy to pour into our students. We also have our teachers and students share personal testimonies of God’s goodness in their own lives.
Our Middle School and High School will host three Family Chapels this year (2025-2026):  Grandparent's Day Chapel on September 4th, Christmas Chapel on December 11th and Easter Chapel on April 2nd.

There will also be a High School Retreat held at Deer Run Camp on August 14th and there will be a Middle School Retreat held at Camp Widjiwagan on September 5th.

In addition to being in Scripture and Worship, our Middle School and High School students have service days during the school year where they go into the community to serve others as the hands and feet of Jesus. Our High School GO DAY will be March 31st and our Middle School GO DAY will be April 10th.

Our Preschool and Elementary School students focus on nine simple biblical truths that teach students to learn who they are because of who Christ is. This year’s truths are I am Known (Psalm 139:1); I am Forgiven (Psalm 86:5); I am Made for Community (John 1:12); I am Never Alone (Luke 2:11); I am Secure (Psalm 46:1); I am Meant to Know God (Deuteronomy 4:35); I am Loved (need to add verse).

Our Middle School and High School students will focus on the theme of "Walk the Walk" (1 John 2:6) for the 2025-2026 school year.
Quarter 1 will place an emphasis on an "Identity in Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Quarter 2 will be geared at seeking to live out the "Christian Lifestyle" (Colossians 3:12-17).  Quarter 3 will highlight the pursuit of the "Christian Disciplines" (1 Timothy 4:7-8).  Quarter 4 will be centered around our students serving others by going "On Mission" (Matthew 28:19-20).
This year's goal is for our students to apply what we have learned, paired with His love for us and going out to change our world for His glory.

MS/HS CHAPEL TOPICS

List of 4 items.

  • Identity in Christ - Quarter 1

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

    2 Corinthians 5:17
  • Christian Lifestyle - Quarter 2

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.  And be thankful.  Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

    Colossians 3:12-17
  • Christian Disciplines - Quarter 3

"Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.  For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."

    1 Timothy 4:7-8
  • On Mission - Quarter 4

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

    Matthew 28:19-20
